Ventra, a coffee solutions provider purpose-built for the higher education sector, today announced the launch of a fully managed coffee program at Charles Sturt University's Sydney and Melbourne campuses, delivered by Navitas, a global leader in international education.
The program gives students access to specialty-grade coffee on campus, priced well below typical café rates. It reflects Ventra's core thesis: on-campus experience is a retention lever, not a nicety. A daily reason to stay on campus, rather than leave for coffee off-site, keeps students closer to their studies, their teachers and each other.
“Student experience isn't built in the big moments. It's built in the daily ones. After almost 15 years working across university and private higher education, in brand and marketing, student experience and employee experience roles, it's clear that international students, in particular, deserve more from the campus they've chosen to call home while they're away from family and friends. A great coffee moment keeps students on campus and connected: to their institution, their teachers, and each other. We're proud to bring that experience to Charles Sturt University's Sydney and Melbourne campuses, delivered by Navitas, one of the most respected names in Australian international education.”
Claudio Da Rocha, Founder and CEO of Ventra
Every cup is built on a supply chain chosen for quality, not convenience. Ventra sources its beans from Pablo & Rusty's, a B Corp-certified, Carbon Neutral Organisation and 1% for the Planet-certified specialty coffee roaster supplying over 200 cafés across Australia.
“Through this partnership, it's great to give access to the most delicious and world changing coffee to students at campuses all across Australia.”
Abdullah Ramay, CEO of Pablo & Rusty's
That coffee is served through Franke Coffee Systems, a global leader in professional coffee solutions, with Swiss-engineered fully-automatic machines designed for consistency and reliability at volume.
“Our goal is to help operators deliver exceptional coffee experiences with complete consistency. Ventra's innovative approach to supporting universities demonstrates how quality coffee can enhance campus life, and we're proud that our technology plays a role in making premium coffee more accessible to students across Australia.”
David Downing, Business Development Director, Oceania at Franke Coffee Systems
For Charles Sturt University, the program is a tangible way to support students balancing study with work.
“Our students work hard, in their studies and in the part-time jobs that fund their education here. Giving them a genuine specialty coffee experience on campus, at a fraction of what they'd pay off-campus, is one concrete way we can make them feel valued. It's a small part of the day, but it's the kind of thing students remember.”
Andrew Knight, Campus Director and Principal, Charles Sturt University Sydney and Melbourne
The program is now live at both the Sydney and Melbourne campuses.
